The MBA-FSI is an executive management programme focused on the financial services industry. The programme emphasizes leadership skills and personal development and provides insights into the various management disciplines. By doing so, we strengthen our participants’ management skills and equip them for a successful career as a financial services manager.

Furthermore, the MBA-FSI fosters global business awareness by organising each of the programme modules in a different financial services market. By experiencing six different countries and cultures and interacting with the local business communities, the participants develop a broad perspective on doing business in a globalised world. The aim of the programme is to provide the participants with the latest general management knowledge and skills and to combine this with in-depth insights into business economics of the financial sector. The holistic view on financial services and insurance and the truly international character enable participants to fully understand the various sectors of the financial services industry and to focus on the development of knowledge and skills to fulfill the challenges in mangement in the own industry.

The MBA-FSI qualifies participants to perform better in managerial positions, to understand the business logic and to think and act strategically. A broad understanding of management is developed by tackling relevant topics concerning financial institutions like risk management, marketing, management accounting and control, global financial systems and financial instruments, corporate finance, operations and technology management. Competence in leadership is enhanced by experiencing the soft factors within the programme. The delegating institutions may profit directly from the MBA-FSI by the papers prepared by the participants where academic insights and research are linked with work- and company-related questions.

The MBA-FSI is an intensive part-time programme consisting of six modules covering a period of 20 months. Two-week residential periods (consisting of lectures by academic and business faculty, presentations, business simulations, cases, and company visits) are followed by non-residential periods during which participants are required to prepare take-home and pre-course assignments while conducting self-study (e.g. literature study, preparation of cases, thesis work, etc.) To expose participants to different business cultures the programme is held in six countries on three continents.
