The World Economic Forum (WEF) has published the Global Competitiveness Report 2019. In the Global Competitiveness Index 4.0 comprising the most competitive countries in the world, Switzerland is ranked 5th behind Singapore, the USA, Hong Kong and the Netherlands. In comparison to the previous year (2018: 4th place) it has slid back by one place. The Executive School of the University of St.Gallen (ES-HSG), as the official partner institute of the WEF, once again conducted this year's survey at business leaders in Swiss companies. In addition to publicly available data, this survey is considered to be the most important component of the World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Report. The report serves as a representative measure of the international competitiveness of all countries of the world and is updated annually.
