Programme Description

The CAS in European and International Business Law provides candidates with strong generalist knowledge and skills in European and international business law. These are an important asset not only for lawyers but for executives in general - therefore the CAS is open for lawyers and non-lawyers. You will continue working and will attend three attendance modules around the globe.

Target Audience

A key feature of the Executive M.B.L.-HSG is the mix of lawyers and non-lawyers, which aims at guaranteeing a program as close to daily practice as possible.

The diversity of our candidates is an asset of the course. They come from different countries and represent a range of ages and professions.

Our candidates also have varied academic backgrounds and work in different sectors. They come from the practicing bar, industry, associations and public administration. Among them are lawyers, managers or engineers.

Juridification of business makes sound knowledge of this area essential not just for lawyers but for all executives involved in decision making in an increasingly global and regional economic environment.

Our international candidates attend the modules in different program locations around the globe and develop cross-cultural competence.

Credits and tuition fee can be taken into account for the Executive Master Program at a later stage.

Course Structure

  1. Attendance Modules
    There's the possibility to select between different focal points, such as:
    - Law & Business in Asia
    - Competition Law
    - Mergers & Acquisitions
    Each focal point consists of 3 different attendance modules.
  2. Preparing for the modules
    Candidates prepare for the modules using our online, password-protected learning platform. This guarantees that they can complete essential parts of their training independently of time and place.
  3. Written Paper
    During their CAS studies, candidates write a paper, in which they analyze a current and real problem of European or international business law according to academic standards. Topics can be chosen from the modules attended. The work is supervised by a member of the faculty.
