UNESCO-Listed Centre of Culture

At the University of St.Gallen (HSG), you will complete your executive education in a Swiss town steeped in tradition. This beautiful urban landscape with charming historical districts and countless sights attracts visitors from around the world – it is a place where history meets modern life. Innumerable unique architectural landmarks – such as St.Gallen Cathedral, which, along with its abbey library, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site – create a very special atmosphere. The nearby Appenzellerland with its picturesque landscapes, Lake Constance in near proximity and world-renowned ski resorts just an hour away will offer you wonderful opportunities to explore and relax.

As the cultural centre of eastern Switzerland, St.Gallen is blessed with diverse cultural opportunities: you can learn interesting facts about the town’s rich history in the municipal museums, and visit numerous contemporary exhibitions. The town’s comprehensive theatre programme includes operas and operettas, musicals, ballet productions and an ever-changing selection of plays. Music lovers can indulge in a visit to the Tonhalle, where the St.Gallen Symphony Orchestra regularly performs concerts. Bars, concert halls, town festivals and open-air festivals regularly attract international visitors and residents alike. Enjoy St.Gallen’s lively cultural scene, surrounded by historic architecture, many hours of sun and a unique landscape.

Economic Hub of Eastern Switzerland

In addition to its cultural diversity, St.Gallen also offers potential for economic growth; the town is considered the economic hub of eastern Switzerland. Many companies, especially in banking and commerce, have their headquarters in St.Gallen. This constellation produces unique possibilities for our students. Countless companies recruit graduates directly from the HSG or use our open programmes to educate their executives. Furthermore, companies act as valuable partners by giving our students access to exciting projects – thus promoting our practice-oriented approach.

St.Gallen’s traditional textile industry developed with industrialisation into a major driving force of the regional economy. The associated challenges in management were one of the reasons why the University of St.Gallen was founded, first as a commercial academy in 1898 – the first institution of its kind – dedicating itself to questions of commerce, transport and administration. This laid the foundations for one of Europe’s most tradition-steeped business schools, which was soon to become an established institution well beyond the borders of St.Gallen itself.

Campus E – The Extended Campus Right in the City Center

The University of St.Gallen now provides you with two options as a venue for executive learning. In addition to the main Executive Campus HSG, the “Campus E” was opened in December 2016 – a cooperation between Einstein Congress Center and the HSG. The Einstein Congress Center provides top learning facilities right in the center of the historic town, only two minutes walking distance from the UNESCO protected abbey. In addition to premier seminar rooms with a view over St.Gallen, participants can stay in St.Gallen’s Hotel Einstein and use the facilities of the Einstein Fitness Park.

Selected seminars, modules of degree programmes as well as various custom programmes will take place at the new Capus E. Participants can also benefit from special rates for accomodation for modules not taking place at Campus E.
